Wi-Fi is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance which is used to brand certified products that belong to a class of wireless local area network (WLAN) devices based on the IEEE 802.11 standards. Now, it is the most popular WLAN class. Recently, it is used as a synonym for IEEE 802.11 technology.
If you want to enable it to work, you need to have two necessary components. One is a wireless adapter and the other is a wireless router. You have to connect them together and then it works. Nowadays, many devices, such as cell phone, laptops include built-in wireless adapter. This adapter can automatically find wireless network which is in range. Today, I will tell you how to set up Wi-Fi on a laptop.
First please power on the laptop that you want to connect to Wi-Fi network. It’s easy but necessary.
Then please enable Wi-Fi access on the laptop. Most of laptops have the built-in wireless adapter, so they can automatically receive Wi-Fi. However, if your laptops or can not be enabled, you can follow the following steps. Fist you click “Start” and “Control Panel.” Then right click “Wireless Network Connection” after you click “Network Connections.” Next select “Enable.”
After that, you will see wireless networks. There are many networks which will appear in a list. Open one of networks, you will see “Unsecured wireless network.” However, secured network will appear with a lock icon or “Security-enabled wireless network.”
The final step is to connect the network you want to. Your laptop can automatically connect to an unsecured network. If in that case, you don’t need to do other things. If your laptop wants to connect with a secured net work, you need to know the access password to complete the connection.
Hope you have mastered it.
