Why do we need an external hard drive?

There are many potential security threats in our computers through the internet, such as Trojan horses, viruses, spy ware and so on. It becomes more and more difficult to guard against these threats. Except the online threats, many people using the same system will put their sensitive files at higher risk of loss. What's more, our mp3, video, movie and photo file need large amount of space on hard drive.
All these questions can be resolved by using an external hard drive. An external hard drive is in its own enclosure. The enclosure is larger than the hard drive itself, sometime with a cooling fan. This allows users store information on the hard drive not inside the computer, but on tabletop or nearby computer. A high-speed interface cable (common type of interface is USB and Firmware) connects the external hard drive to the computer, and then they can communicate with each other so that the data can be passed back and forth.
An external hard drive is useful for users. Firstly, it allows the user to store important information separate from their internal hard drive. Some sensitive documents, movies, music files in your internal hard drive can be kept safely on your external hard drive. Then you can lock your external hard drive in your drawer.
Secondly, it is convenient to be operated. ( Just plug-and-play). Any computers with usb or firmware will recognize the external hard disk as a storage device. It is easy to take the files back and forth from work to home, or between your laptop and desktop. By plugging in the interface cable, you can set up your working environment.
Thirdly, it can keep your documents safe. When there are many people using the same computer, you can plug in your external drive and have all your documents available and unplug the drive when finished. Nobody can see your document even though you are in the same computer
There are so many advantages to use an external hard drive. Go to buy one!
