First find your fuse box or circuit breakers and disconnect the power to the remote outlet. Note the circuit breaker box 'At Work' or something similar in case someone mistakenly turns the power on while you're working on the remote outlet.
Use an electrical appliance or a circuit tester to test, make sure the power is off.
Then unscrew the remote outlet and pull it out of the wall. It should come out a few cm. Set the screws aside.
Use colored tape or pens to mark where each wire was attached to the remote outlet.
Loose the screw and remote the remote outlet.
Take the ould remote outlet to an electrical-supply store. Ask a salesperson to help you find the correct remote outlet. Use the old outlet as a guid to install.
Attach the wires to the new outlet. Wap the wires around the terminals with your fingers.
